Honoring a Legacy of Compassion

Honoring a Legacy of Compassion

Founded in 2016, Sunshine’s Open Door Foundation was created to honor Elizabeth “Sunshine” Brooks, a woman whose unwavering kindness changed countless lives.

Sunshine believed in the power of generosity, warmth, and protection—offering her home and heart to those in need. Inspired by his grandparents’ compassion, Marion E. Brooks established this foundation to continue their legacy of opening doors for those who didn’t have their own “Sunshine.”
